Dr. Wilder Rose L.Ac. DSOM (they/them)

I graduated from NUNM in 2020 with my DSOM focusing on the translation of Classical Chinese Medical Texts and their application to practicing today.  My doctoral capstone was titled "Beyond the Binary" and was a deep dive into the potential of the classical view of the body in order to better acknowledge and work with the beautiful diversity of gender expressions and body types that are a fact of nature.  This spectral way of understanding the human experience is a common thread through my art, music, life as a parent and general existence as a whole person.

Working with the grain of who we are is the beauty of a medicine based in the principles of nourishing life.  Rather than chasing symptoms or overly identifying with pathology, the medicine I practice is a creative, generative exploration and excavation of you, an identification and invitation to a deeper alignment with what is most in service to your wholeness.

This work is a translation of the information our nervous systems are constantly communicating to us on subtle levels, that become louder and more painful the more we struggle to hear them.  We are constantly untangling from systems that are incoherent with this deeper rhythm within, and acupuncture and the general work I do helps gently and easefully restore the channels of communication in ways that simply leave us feeling better.

It is a miracle to do this work every day.  The beauty of the paradigm of medical science held in this classical worldview is that these practices and concepts are not subject to the cartesian philosophical split of mysticism and rationalism, and there is a wonder and beauty and magic at play at the same time as the objective, material, and measurable.  No one angle is more important, it is the balance of all ingredients that makes the meal.  In this truly holistic practice there is a place for both right brain and left brain and the relationships between them, for science and play, for information and mystery.

All is held in this sacred container, and from this place of presence each can find their role in the artful collaboration of parts that makes you who you are.  I look forward to being of service in this work, to meeting you, and to discovering what ways this work can enhance your experience of this life.
